Former Landfill Site

WES is working with the developer on a strip center located on top of a former city landfill. WES conducted a Phase I ESA followed by soil, soil gas, and groundwater sampling (e. g., Phase II Sampling). Since the property is a former landfill and fixed gases (methane) were present, WES will assist this client with a Subtitle T permit application.
In addition to the fixed gases, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) were detected in soil gas samples collected beneath the concrete foundation and parking lot. The contamination at the site is being addressed through TCEQ ‘s VCP.
